What are the computer parts that I need to get Sims 3 to run fast?
The Sims 3 that I bought recently, and it sucks on my computer. I lags way more than The Sims 2 and is very slow. Which parts you need to buy / upgrade to make it run smoothly and quickly? How much will cost? My computer is an Acer Aspire SA80. The current motherboard is bad for games (Sims 3). I'm assuming I'm also going to need a new card video to play The Sims 3 without problems. Acer Aspire SA80 was kind of a cheap computer, and has been for years now. The best upgrade to the motherboard E661GXM would be something like a single core 3.06 GHz Pentium 4 (533 MHz FSB), which would still be an obsolete processor, not a big improvement over the current Celeron. E661GXM The motherboard also has an AGP video card, which is also obsolete. At this point, you should not lose money buying an AGP video card version. In short, you old computer can not be updated efficiently, so it needs to be replaced to run The Sims 3 as well. The Sims 3 is indeed very CPU-intensive game. Favors quad core, and, unlike most games, favors AMD quad cores over quad core Intel equivalent. The Sims 3 also favors Nvidia cards GeForce, more than Radeon. GeForce tends to give a smoother game.
