Acer Desktop Quality
What is a good computer to buy (laptop or desktop), under these conditions?
I will basically be using a computer for gaming, storage and photos. Gaming would truly be a rare thing, but I love my PC RPGs. Storage is basically if I decide to get MP3s from iTunes or something. Thing is, I had a Sony Vaio that is happening in 5 years. He was confident, but with roommates constantly playing with it, I think it's in his deathbed. Main concerns are to have good quality, but nothing too expensive because I'm on a tight budget right now. I've seen names like Acer, Toshiba, HP and Compaq move around, but I always heard negative about Compaq. The Acer and Toshiba, I do not know much about these. HP is the best route?
HP is a good computer, but are quite expensive, I think it also produces HP Compaq (unless they have improved greatly recently, I'd stay away from them). Dell sounds cheap until you build your computer and then the price increases. Dell computers are usually conjugated quickly (mass production) and have more problems. I bought our first Acer Desktop four years and never had a problem moments. I have since bought another Acer (Core Duo) and are satisfied with it as well. My kids play a lot of games (hockey for Flight Simulator, etc.), they download music, burn CD / DVD or put them on your MP3, see our photos, etc., and had no problems. My son has a laptop Toshiba Satellite A100 and is somewhat happy with it (he has a problem with freezing times). You basically have to happy with the price and the computer. Do not spend too much on a computer in six months, the computer they bought half the size of the new coming out (hard disk, memory, quad core etc).
