Acer Desktop Tower

What is the future of the computer is that I go with?
Background: At the moment I have a main PC (huge tower, 1.7Ghz Athlon running Windows XP, GFX decent + 19 "Iiyama monitor) that I use for the material web, chat, photo editing, and occasionally play games that run on it. I also an Acer Ferrari, which has seen better days (keys have worn off, etc.) that I use for the Couch Surfing, or chat. I need to use both for development work web, occasionally, but I try to work from home as little as possible. Future: I'm moving to a new apartment, I do not really want a great PC cluttering up the place, I'm thinking just stick with a laptop and a small network attached storage device. I stay with my current laptop and just do more, or should I risk perhaps a little Macbook never have owned an Apple before (and have an iPod that died three times!). Questions: 1. Desktop or laptop? 2. Apple or PC Thoughts – benefits? Are welcome:)
2GB Ram 2.8 "Dual Core" LGA 775 Intel Pentium 4 is difficult to say desktop or laptop and that's your choice and your lifestyle, if you travel a lot then I would otherwise Laptop Desktop is good
