Acer Desktop Vista Recovery
Like many others, the first time you start eRecovery on your laptop you use a password. So the month of last year, and you need eRecovery, but now you forgot the password …
Note: The method can be very different, with its model, but the principle remains the same, there should be a file that stores your password, and it must be one of the newer files since you changed your password.
Note 2: Vista compatibility
This problem is resolved very easily, make a right click on the partedit32 icon, go properties, click the Compatibility tab and set the compatibility on winxp or win98.
Add Vista and XP run as an administrator.
Method n ° 1:
1. Download Partedit32 launch the program and change the type of partition pqservice 27-7.
2. Restart your computer press F2 at boot to enter BIOS and disable the option (d2drecovery).
3. Restart and press F8 several times to reach the recovery menu of Windows, choose the option: command prompt. Open windows and now there's a letter for a new unit, x, for example.
4. Type dir "and look for the file" aimdrs.dat. "Next, type this command at the prompt:" Copy C aimdrs.dat "
5. Restart the computer normally, open a notepad look for the file to open it and retrieve your password. Do not forget to restore your pqservice partition on your state initial partedit32, and to reactivate the D2D recovery option in the BIOS.
Method n ° 2:
With a CD boot Linux do:
1. Cd / mnt
2. Acer mkdir
3. mount – t vfat / dev/hda1 / mnt / Acer
4. cat / tools / aimdrs.dat
Here is your password.
Note: For the latest portable hard drives replace "hda1" with "sda1".
