Acer Desktop Xp Pro
My son gave me an Acer TravelMate 212T. It has 10GB hard drive, 128 RAM and software Millinium.?
It is a slow and abit of frustration use it. 2 I would like to upgrade it. 2 You can clear D software changes and maybe 2 Window XP (SP2). I mainly use the 4 news reading, discussion and chat. My desktop is with 40GB hard drive, 256 MB RAM and Windows XP Pro, works well. Recommendation please!
Well, as you have package of Windows XP OS upgrade upgrade to XP would not be a problem. However, the big problem is the small amount of RAM your computer has. I at least update RAM to 256 total, but it would be a bare minium for me. The best solution I can see if putting a stick of 256 RAM in there and reformulation of the disc drive for Windows XP. However, this will erase your whole comptuer so you need to backup your files. When the computer was upgraded to XP, you need to reinstall all programs that were on it with a CD or something. So quick rundown of the things necessary to make it work better. 1. Install a 128 or higher Memory Stick 2. Back up files from laptop 3. Reformatting the disk for Windows XP Home / Pro 4. Reinstall the programs that you want to use. (check you have the CD's for this part). Hope that helps you some.
