Asus Desktop Backgrounds

I brought a new Asus Eee and run the Linux program. How do I get a picture as my background?
Can I change the color, but thats all and I found a tab when I click on the picture that said "make the desktop background" or something, but when I clicked nothing happened on my background was green. By please someone help me plain background is annoying me.
umm, to be honest: EEEPC is kinda shit with your operating system. I would find a version more complete Linux because it is what works, and install that. Do not be afraid of change, it would be great, since the eeepc is Linux.
