Dell Desktop Bar

dell desktop bar
It's my taskbar computer / start button is gone forever?

I have a 2004 model "Dell diminsions 3000" computer. Is only off one day when I was on the Internet. I thought I had a virus. I had a computer repairman to come and look at it, he said that I fried it. But the only thing is, I have no Start button, no taskbar and no icons. But I can still access my files via the Task Manager, so all my files are still there, but I do not want to go through this long process to get to anything. Does anyone know how I could get my button Start, Task bar and desktop icons back? (Please, no "Sorry I do not know" It's good you tried to help, but sorry to correct any machine.) Thank you.

I suggest a couple more options … the PC Repair Tech who looked at your PC is respectable, then it may be correct since he looked at it first hand, unlike me respond to their concerns with the information you provided. The way you described your problem is not equivalent to a "Fried PC, otherwise you would see one or more error codes / messages before they reach your desktop. Find Dell Restore disk that came with your PC when you bought it. If you restore a disk was not supplied with your new PC, then the task of restoration is located on your hard disk. To access this you need to restart your computer. While it is restarting the BIOS (ie, cargo and drivers), you'll see the option System Restore in which you must press the appropriate "F Key" (eg F10, F12). Once you press the fuction right, and you will be taken the recovery screen. (if you missed it, just keep restarting so that your Windows operating system does not load because if your OS starts to load, then you have lost the restore option). You will want to first try a Non-Destructive Restore, which will restore your computer back to factory settings, without losing the existing files and folders. To be on the safe side, always backup all your files and folders before performing this task, or the next task that I recommend, if it does not work). If this restore your desktop, make sure your virus protection is updated and then scan for viruses. If this does not restore your desktop, then you have to reboot the PC, go back on its restoration as described above, and perform a destructive restore. This will restore your computer back to the first day they began their new PC. Please note that performing a restore destructive, This will delete all files, folders, personal settings and software (virus protection that is, your software provider Interenet, all your Microsoft updates, installed the printer software, games, etc.) that you installed it. If your desktop is back to normal (showing the Taskbar tab, start and icons, etc.), then reinstall the virus protection, and all its updates from Microsoft. Both options I have provided are easy to implement, if you're computer saavy, but if you're not, find a friend who is, otherwise you will not get the desired results yourself. If you have any questions or need clarification, update your question with additional information as you can, and I'll address this time. Good luck!
