HP, Dell or Compaq?

I would like to personal opinions about which of the above manufacturers would be best to buy and why? I'm looking to spend about $ 450 – $ 525 just for the PC (do not need a monitor). Mainly being used only for personal thanks and business applications ..

If you can not buy some components and plug them into a case and install Windows even when Dell. There is only one reason not to not.
