Dell Desktop Fan Replacement
Help to find a processor fan for a Dell Dimension 4400 Desktop!?
When I turn on my computer I get the error message "CPU Fan not detected "anyone know where I can buy a replacement fan to install on a computer desktop Dell Dimension 4400 and where can I find instructions to install it? Thanks so much! Chris
First off the computer and remove the side of the box so you can see the CPU fan. Computer again and make sure the fan is or is not working. If the fan is not running, shut the computer off. Next, determine what kind of processor you have (Intel or AMD). This will determine the type of fan you will need. Turn off the computer again and turn the fan mobo, then remove the fan age. Clean the thermal grease off the processor with more "clean touch" or Arctic Silver cleaner processor. Then go to newegg.com and order the fan appropriate for your processor. Also buy some Arctic Silver "thermal grease pottery in the smallest amount. You only need a quantity of size BB processor when you kill the fan for the processor.
