Dell Desktop Parallel Port
Using a bridge to 327W for computers?
Dell XPS has no parallel port and a PC is not generic for my HP LaserJet 4. The XPS has wireless Internet (wireless) access so I want to use the generic and the print server. I want to use the W 327 PC to correct the two together so I can print from desktop and Dell laptop that are both wireless. In addition, the FIOS router is not near the Dell XPS for an Ethernet connection. Hope that was clear.
Both computers are connected to the same "FIOS" router? No matter that they use wire or cable or wireless connection to the same router puts them in the same network. (Think of it this way, the wireless connection is exactly the same as Ethernet, only wireless!) Just setup file and printer shares on both machines, set the workgroup, use the printer! Just run the Network Wizard and configure them to the same settings, you're Network! If the printer is working and connected to the machine, all you have to do is "share" the network! (do not forget to tell the two firewalls to allow the local machines!)
