Dell Desktop Replacement Parts
How do I remove the CD rom in my Dell desktop?
My CD rom stopped working a while ago (will not be ejected) so I bought a replacement. (I tried everything, and there is a small button pinhole in my manual.) I'm having trouble removing the existing drive, because the guy plastic parts of the computer will not fall. They seem to have little plastic tabs, one on each side. The left side pushes and releases, but the right is in a fixed position, as if it were stuck there without giving. (I'm starting to believe this computer was assembled in pieces!) If I were able to remove the front how do I remove the drive? There seems to be any screws to remove, and it will not just fall off. I do not want to break anything. Does anyone have any suggestions or know some site with information and photos that could help? Thanks in advance.
I have a Dell, most come with a manual, but that is not the one you can hold it in the drive. Try a search for: C: dell docs eom.pdf manual If you had given the model number that I could have done it online for you.
