Dell Desktop Studio Slim
How good is the quality of the image of a TV tuner card to compare a set-top box for HD. photo?
I have a Dell Studio Slim, with a few minor upgrades.I use my 42 "Sharp LCD as my monitor, a wireless keyboard / mouse, and has good surround sound on. The desktop is connected via HDMI and I have a large photo on Hulu and similar sites. I was thinking of installing a TV tuner card to watch cable tv on it through my PC and able to record, etc. What would be my picture quality hi-def experience (if any). Also, I would be able to use a universal remote control (like a Logitech Harmony) to control visualization. Thanks in advance for any advice / assistance.
The TV tuner card for your PC can receive TV signal through air and cable TV. Hi-def picture quality will not suffer anything. If you have an HD antenna connected to your TV tuner card, you can get the HD signal the air without passing through the cable. If you subscribe to the HD Cable, then the signal you get from your cable company is HD, so your tuner card TV will be able to play HD also. As for how the remote goes, the TV card comes with a remote control, so you have to use it. I do not think Logitech Harmony will work with him.
