Dell Desktop Warranty Check
My hard drive crashed, I save my files and clone XP OS and music files and pix, but ….. HELP!?
Hi, I have a 40 GB Dell Inspiron 4150 notebook hard drive that is no longer under warranty. I was using my laptop when one day decided not to boot. "No hard druive found" So I bought an external 2.5 "enclosure portable hard to see if I could save my files, try to use Ghost to clone the new drive, etc. When I turn on the office hard drive to my job to try a backup before a clone, Windows chimes in saying that there is new hardware found and see the icon of a disk Generic USB device USB is there, but will not recognize on my computer. I tried to verify its presence using the Disk Management, a drive letter does not appear. In Device Manager, the USB device is listed there, and their properties, but it's useless "This device can not start. (Code 10) .. Any ideas? I hate lose my music and pix, and just really like a clone of HD. Thanks ..
You must assign a drive letter, it may require the completion a couple of other operations first. Usually the guide through a right click on the drive.
