Gateway Desktop Beeping
How do I put Windows 98 on my computer that crashed?
I have a Gateway 2000 computer and a Dell. I am using a Dell to post this question. The Gateway had a Windows 95. So I turned it and it starts to run the disk check. Then it freezes. I restarted it and close the scan disk. He continues saying that something is wrong with him. I pressed again and then went to my desktop. Nothing came away, except a window that says the problem is that there is no record defect computer. I clicked the button that says to reinstall the record right and then freezes before I can do anything. I tried to have to boot from the Windows 98 disk. Then, after it shows the Gateway 2000 logo, it starts beeping like crazy and showing it to the really tricky language. He then begins to start in 95 and shows the registry problems and even scan the disk. How can I fix this?
If you're listening to the sound system, you may have a problem with your hardware. Each manufacturer has different beep codes to determine the problem. Since you are running Windows 95, I'm assuming the computer is very old, and it may cost you more likely to fix anything in it, than just go out and get a new one.
