Gateway Desktop Memory Upgrade

We recommend using Avast anti-virus for several reasons. Not only is a very powerful tool, but it is very easy to use, even for beginners computer. It is free for home use and requires the maintenance of active User little to run. Once you are installing, you do not need to mess around with it for over a year. We will explain how to install the program.

To download Avast, avast.com visit and download the free home edition. You can download the installation file or the User installation file English. After downloading, double-click the icon to proceed. The screen introduction appear. Click Next. The second screen has some technical information, including minimum requirements for avast. If you bought your computer the last 12 years, you'll be fine. Click Next again. Now you will be prompted to accept the End User License. You can read this if you want, otherwise click "I agree" and move along. Now, you are prompted for a target folder to install the program. Better leave standard input as is. The next screen shows the configuration options that you should not move. Finally, the last screen before installation itself gives a quick summary. Clicking Next will install the program.

When the installation is complete, you are prompted to schedule a boot time scan. This is one of our favorite features of avast because it allows the program to clean your computer before you start Windows (and viruses!). Clicking Yes will schedule verification and render your computer inoperable for a couple of hours the next time you restart the machine. We recommend you click No at the moment. Next screen will prompt you to reboot your machine. Just click on restart later.

Find the icon of the newly installed Avast on your desktop and double click it. This will run the actual program. You will be prompted to enter your license key or press statement. Demo lets you use the program for 2 months before registering. Registration is free for home use and is a very quick process. Your license key will last 14 months at which point you can register again. We get you out of the way today! Click the register link on the program.

Your default browser will open today and take it to the avast site where you prompted to register. The whole process involves providing your e-mail (where the key will be sent), providing your name, your intention to use the program at home, your country, age and level of computer. A few dialogues optional ask why you chose avast and that you used to use avast. Finally enter the security code image and click "Sign up for a free license."

Go to your e-mail copy and paste the key that was provided to program avast is still open and click ok. Voila! You're ready to use avast for the next 14 months.
