Desktop Messenger 2.0 Review
What is included?
The software consists of 3 parts.
First, there is a control panel that you as the merchant uses to create the role of media to their subscribers with a few clicks.
Second is the software viewer, a small program downloaded to their subscribers work environment that allows them to read your messages. This goes to their tasks and appears when a new message is received.
Finally, there is the script that is uploaded to your hosting server and acts as the "gateway" between the last two programs. For this you need have access to the cpanel of your host server, which is standard for all good hosts, then you need to create a new database and User database and upload the script files to the server. DonÂ't donÂ't worry if you know how to do this as included in the package is a series of standards tutorials that walk you through the creation of the script in an easy to follow the process.
It is better than email?
With Frank Dangs Desktop Messenger 2.0, messages can be created that are much more feature rich email messages with images and videos directly insert the reader the message without opening a Web browser to view them. Elements of HTML as the opt ins and application forms can also be included directly make the message more friendly and attractive than e-mail.

It is easy to use?
This is where I had some problems with the software.
For the subscriber, not a problem of all, to download the viewer application and install it on your PC and the messages will be displayed on your screen immediately when the arrive.
However, for the merchant to create things can get a tricky. For starters, the WYSIWYG editor is very basic, with text formatting, such as size, font, etc., image hyperlink buttons and upload it. There also a button that will include the code to insert details entered in the message.
That's good to make plain text messages, but make the most of rich media, which may be included in messages on the page to be formatted as an HTML document and then imported into the software. This is a process simple for anyone with basic knowledge of html, but you need to keep this in mind when ordering donÂ't know any HTML programming.
There are other things I discovered while using the software that took a while to resolve, for example, you CanÂ't just paste the YouTube embed code in the message or document HTML must be changed first. This is simple when you know but how it can be frustrating trying to find a reason to display it wonÂ't.
My verdict
As you can see the posibilities are endless, and besides the issues above this turned out to be a tool very helpful I will be using for all my future marketing campaigns.
Overall I give this software 9 of 10 with the small problems above is the only thing that prevents a perfect 10
