Gateway Fx Audio Driver

I currently have a broadband modem USB. I bought a wireless router that has Ethernet connections. Currently, the modem is connected to my downstairs computer that is running Windows 98, so will not bridge the connections up my computer (XP). I can not upgrade to XP because the risk of a family member usually 'he.

Can I connect a broadband USB modem to my wireless router using a complicated selection of cable adapters or Ethernet, USB (I do not I find a USB to Ethernet). I think yours is to Ethernet port on your time, but not USB to Ethernet. I do not see any reason you should not be able to connect your USB modem to your XP computer and use it as a bridge to the computer 98.

Of course, it would be better to have an all-in-one unit, but you can accomplish your goal with this equipment. You can not use cable adapters to convert the USB modem to Ethernet. USB needs drivers to work, and the connections Ethernet does not provide these drivers for the device. you can also connect the modem to the XP machine and bridge connections, yes. but you can leave the system the way what is and configure it to run smoothly like this:

If I had the hardwear in front of me, it would be easier to provide details … probly but I can give you an idea of what to do. There are only 2 steps here:

1. configure an internet gateway.

2. configure the router.

And the rest is easy.

1. Set the machine from the Internet to share an Internet connection (you can use the wizard, if you want, or simply allow the Internet Connection Sharing), which will turn 98 on an internet gateway. gateway that requires an IP address assigned, however. In essence, the machine will be the 98 Internet server, so the IP of the machine 98 is the gateway IP.
