Gateway FX 7811 TOO HOT: 99C – 10Points ..?
accodring to HWMonitor, after 1 hour to play GTA 4 with the default setting of 1024 x 768 on my laptop … Intel Core 2: Core 1: max 77C (170F) Core 0: max 81C (177f) geforce 9800gts: core GPU: max 99C (210F) …. water boils at 100C. my GPU is 99C ….. -_-… omg? is normal? and that I should do something or just leave it there? is there anyway to cooler my laptop without buying a cooler pad? 10Points ….
Those temperatures for a laptop are quite high. Although some graphics cards are known to run well up to 110-120C, is never a good idea to run them so hot. This will significantly reduce the life of your laptop. Take a look at a product such as http://www.targus.com/us/product_Details.asp?SKU=pa248u. This is basically a small stand with the fans base that you connect via USB. Its amazing what a little extra space and cooling will do. I would expect 15-18C cooler, when the games. They have a small cost to them, but how powerful this machine is its well worth it money.As for devices that are not of a waterblock, I heard from fans outside that basically hook to the outside of the laptop, but these are not as effective and are a little more costly.
