Gateway FX laptop quality, DDR1, 2 and 3?
I am looking to buy a new laptop for gaming. the best I could find at the time was the Gateway P-7811FX. If someone has, could you tell me how? Also, what is the difference between DDR, DDR2 and DDR3? For example, it has 512 MB of DDR3 memory, which supposedly surprising. All responses appreciated. 512 MB video card. 4 GB of RAM
port 7811 is well built, and great bang for the buck. DDR is not most used, so disregard. DDR2 is a type of RAM. However, NVIDIA 9xxx all use GDDR3 or DDR3 RAM video. RAM device I believe it is DDR2. real difference is that DDR3, I believe, is 20% faster, but if the card has more RAM than it can use, does not really matter (it does in this case) so you have 4 GB of DDR2 RAM sticks, while the GPU has 512 MB of GDDR3 memory other than the standard RAM. Just so you know, 512MB of memory GPU is the second largest available in notebook GPU. Overall, get the 7811. to compete with $ 2000 laptops, and is awarded $ 1400 price.
