Gateway Fx Tower

Is it safe to have my subwoofer near my computer tower?
I just received my Logitech Z-2300 in the mail today and I'm trying to figure out where a good place for my subwoofer would be and I'm thinking that next to my tower could be the best place because of space. I'm wondering if the subwoofer will rattle the guts my new Gateway FX PC. Thanks for any input!
Its usually in the manual. The size and power of the magnet in a speaker is different, depending on the make and model, so recommended distance may vary. I have a set of Altec 90watt speakers and advise you to keep sup 3ft shielded away from the computer tower. Not for vibration, but to the magnetic effects. Recently I was calling a BOSS system for a computer and shared 4ft away from the tower and screen. Although you can place them next to your computer, even if they are protected, they still have to vibration and a magnetic field. You're dealing with a subwoofer 120Watt RMS, I would say 3ft or more is a good idea if you can control the distance. The amount of the sub expelled the majority of Logitech is quite high. You should notice a bit of travel (air and being pushed / pulled in and out of port), this mode of vibration. Vibration can have an effect on your hard drive (s) and fan (s). Another point about This sub will give off a certain amount of heat. Heat + computer is not a good idea. Any decent audiophile will tell you the best place for a sub, but is under his. LOL. Shooting a sub, as long as they pointed and not completely blocked by hard surfaces, it should make little difference. The size of the room is the biggest factor. Base is highly permeable in the range of sound, and tends to move things as opposed to the higher frequency sounds in the same Decible.
