How do I get my computer off standby mode?
While I was out of my mother tried to turn off my computer, but put mode wait, instead, and now I can not get the computer or monitor to return often. I have a Gateway fx4710 -> http://gallery.techarena.in/data/513/Gateway_Desktop_FX4710.jpg The power button on the tower just flashes slowly and I can turn the monitor off and sorta but nothing happens, it's just black. How do I get my computer to properly? Thanks in advance! :] Thanks for the answers so far, I press the power button for at least a million times (hehe). Still, nothing happens.
You should be able to tap the power button on your PC and it will turn right back on. Since it was on stand by all things that were open before will still be open. I hope this helps. It's all in the back of your computer connected to it? If nothing seems to work you can try to push and hold the power button until it shuts down. If it does not turn off, so I think your only option would be to turn it off.
