Gateway Fx6800 Motherboard
What are the brands Gateway uses for its components?
I'm thinking of buying a Gateway FX6800-01e, and of course, says the brand of processor and graphics card, but I would like to know what brand they use for the PSU, motherboard, memory, etc. (in short, the marks of other components). The gateway to make or buy for others components? Does anyone know where I can find this information?
Hello, There are really only a memory manufacturer in U.S.. "Memory Crucial" actually manufactures the chips chips, the memory of the printed circuit board, and then assembles them into memory modules. There memory is used by Apple, HP and Gateway, among others. Some memory vendors say they are manufacturers of memory, but really all they do is mount the memory, among these are Kingston. Now motherboard I have no other reference to that personal experience, but from the many gateways have repaired or will have one or a Foxconn motherboard Intel. Depending on how much money you spend will determine what kind of processor you get, more money for Intel less money for AMD. They use graphics cards ATI. Are more than likely will have a Western Digital hard drive, however, could be a Hitachi or Samsung. I contacted Gateway support, none of them had no idea. They just spout off all the manufacturers that use, and said that random selection would have just let the computer. So I hope that helps, I went to the source and even if they did not know. The best advice I can give is do not buy a Gateway with Sony they are the worst of problems with drivers and support to say the less. me and most of my friends or have a Dell or a Mac, though I recently bought an Asus which has 16GB of solid state memory and 2GB of RAM running XP. I was very pleased with him and in just 2 pounds! How can you beat that. If you are looking for a more powerful machine for video editing or storage of massive amounts music and movies I defiantly go with a Mac or a Dell just for the ease of upgrades and customization of global power and reliability. I've been repairing computers as a hobby / side income for 5 years and you know what's on my desk right now? 2 HP and a gateway. Haha coincidence? I think not.
