Sony Vaio Desktop Memory Upgrade
Memory Upgrade: Sony Vaio PCV-RS510 – Can I upgrade my memory to 4Gig?
I have a Sony Vaio Desktop PCV-RS510 and requires PC-2700 333MHz DDR RAM and it says is upgradable to 2gigs but that was back when there were only 512 max so he can use four of these, but I'm wondering if I can use 1GIG PC-2700 333MHz DDR with the mother. Any suggestions? And it is a Pentium 4 2.8Ghz with HT and I know it's a little out of date, but it's really super outdated? I do not plan upgrade to Vista anytime soon, I just want a better memory. Ideas? Thank you for your ideas!
Sony has no information published on the motherboard of the system on your site, while the last BIOS update for the mother was in 2004. You like to contact Sony support http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/support-contacts.pl?mdl=PCVRS510 to find out if your motherboard can support 1GB DIMMs. Meanwhile, the upgrade to 2GB is still plenty of RAM for Windows XP, and its processor certainly far from outdated. No is present, but is well above the minimum specification for most software and many games. You would not play Crysis with this PC, but you could certainly play Far Cry, or even BioShock (provided you have a decent video card.)
