The central processing unit (CPU) chip is probably the most important computer. It contains the arithmetic logic unit (ALU), so the computer can make calculations, and control unit that controls the flow of data between the processor and other components. There are a lot of competition between manufacturers of processors and speeds they offer. But the simple fact is that although it is strongly featured in the marketing literature even the slower processors (1.4 to 1.6) are fast enough for most uses. Money saved on processors more useful could be spent on memory or better graphics.
There are two things that really matter with laptop processors: the balance between processor power and battery consumption, and links to mobile technology to allow you to take full advantage of the portability of the laptop. For the first, simply put, the word processors in your cell name will be the best choice, as in Intel Pentium 4 or Athlon XP Mobile or Turion. These use less energy and run cooler (plus a final in a laptop). For the second, the combination of Intel processor, chipset and card wireless technologies marketed under the Centrino brand is hard to beat. As I mentioned in my guidelines not be put off by lower speeds of mobile processors. They work in a different that makes them work as fast, but at a lower speed MHz. A good example is the Mobile Pentium (Centrino) 1.6 GHz, which is equivalent to a speed Desktop P4 3.0 GHz!
If possible, try to avoid laptops with desktop processors (typically 2.8 GHz or higher, without the word "mobile" or the letter "M" in the name). Fitting desktop components in a laptop is rarely a good idea. The excessive heat accumulation and consumption of energy will cause long-term problems.
