Video Card Upgrade, Please Help?
Any computer nerds here? I'm needing help on how to upgrade my video card. This is the current specification for my desktop: http://www.superwarehouse.com/Sony_VAIO_RB34G/VGC-RB34G/ps/471789 And I just recently bought this to upgrade my RAM: http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid = CDA1381AA5CA7304 Now Here's the thing, this is only my first time to upgrade my PC. I bought this, in 2005, so it's pretty much a legacy system. I would like to know which video cards are compatible with my system. Looking for a 256m or 512. My Options are open so kindly help me on this. Assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I agree, you need a better source as the video card (I chose x1600) will suck all the power. If you want, 8800GT is a great option if you were to upgrade your PSU anyways. However if you like AGP, X1600 XT is the best choice out there. (It is much better than my old 6600GT) So in conclusion, get an X1600 XT, if you motherboard supports AGP 8x or 8800GT is the motherboard has both AGP expansion slots and PCI-E 2.0. Good luck!
